Sharks Wanted!
Joining Orange Hunt Swim Team is a great way to enjoy the summer! New and returning families, we can’t wait to see you at the pool this summer!
We welcome swimmers of all abilities between the ages of 5 and 18. To ensure a safe practice, children should be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted in freestyle and backstroke to participate on the swim team. Children under the age of 6 who can swim a length of the pool unassisted in freestyle and backstroke are welcome to join the team and must be evaluated by the head/assistant coach for their approval. Swimmers under the age of 7, who cannot yet swim a length of the pool, are invited to participate in Mini Sharks.
Our goal is to provide children in our community a healthy, fun-filled summer activity. Kids will enjoy the camaraderie of a team sport, learn/enhance a life skill, grow their self-confidence as they see improvement in their swimming skills, get loads of great physical activity, and participate in many team social activities. One of the most wonderful parts of summer swim is the relationships forged between our older and younger Sharks! Parents will enjoy knowing their kids will exercise at least 45 minutes a day, five days a week and gett to know their neighbors. Swim team is a family affair and we hope your family joins us!
If you are unsure where your Shark should be placed, all swimmers will be evaluated during the first week of swim practice to ensure they are in the group that best meets their developmental needs. You can also email us at [email protected] with questions.
Team Fees - Swim Team and Mini Sharks
Permanent Member - $150 /swimmer
Associate Member - $170 /swimmer
**Due to our contractual agreements with our coaches, we will not be offering registration refunds once our swim season starts. We have an obligation to pay our coaches, even if our season is shortened for any reason.
League & Division
The Orange Hunt Swim Team has participated in the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL) since 1970.
For the 2025 season, we will compete in NVSL’s Division 5. NVSL governs all of our Saturday “A Meets,” the Divisional Meets, and the All Star Meets.
We also participate in the Springfield-Burke Developmental League (SBDL) for our Monday night “B Meets.” These meets are with local pools and are a fun time to see friends from other pools!
